Biography

Louis Lang received his undergraduate degree from the American University in Washington, D.C.  He graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, Associate Justice of the Order of Wig and Robe, a semi-finalist in the Regional Mock Trial Competition, sponsored by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and a recipient of the Robert W. Foster Award and Scholarship.

Louis was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1982 and to the District of Columbia Bar in 1983.  He came to the firm in 1987, after having served four years on active duty in the Judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Navy, and having served in the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C.

Louis concentrates his practice on litigation, principally in the area of title insurance claims litigation.  He has litigated numerous title insurance related cases — jury and non-jury cases in state and federal court — as well as appeals. He has vast experience in handling litigation, including complex title-related issues, coverage questions and bad faith claims asserted directly against title insurance companies.

Louis handles a variety of other business and commercial litigation as well as a federal court criminal defense practice.
