Biography

Drew English concentrates his practice on commercial real estate acquisitions and development. He has extensive experience in matters relating to retail shopping centers and has represented developers in all aspects of their projects, including handling the acquisition of real property for the development, permitting and entitlements, permanent loan facilities, and sales of operating centers. Drew also frequently represents lenders in purchase money financing, refinancing of existing facilities, and workouts. He often serves as local counsel to ensure the enforceability of closing documents and the issuance of title insurance policies attendant to closings.

In addition to his transactional practice, Drew maintains a real estate litigation practice, successfully litigating matters throughout South Carolina.  He represents clients in both trial and appellate courts and recently prevailed in a case before the South Carolina Court of Appeals, resulting in a published opinion in favor of his lender client.

Drew graduated from Wofford College in 1995 and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1998. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas W. Cooper Jr., Resident Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit. Drew joined Callison Tighe as an associate in 1999 and became a member of the firm in 2004.
