Biography

A former military intelligence officer and a 2011 cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, George A. Taylor earned his bachelor's degree in political science from The Citadel in 2004. He was commissioned into the Air Force not long afterward. He served four years in North Carolina and Iraq, rising to the rank of captain and earning an Air Force Commendation Medal, an Army Commendation Medal and two Air Force Achievement Medals.

He earned a number of academic honors in law school, including John Belton O’Neal Inn of Court and Order of the Wig and Robe. He also received CALI Awards (formerly AMJUR) in Advanced Legal Writing; Criminal Practice Clinic; and Interviewing. Additionally, he was recognized as Best Newcomer, Best Cross-Examination and Best Closing Argument with the USC Mock Trial Team. He spent his summers during law school as a legal clerk, for two different law firms and for the Richland County Public Defender's office.
